Shooting after altercation at Lodge freeway and Seven Mile

A shooting has been reported on the Lodge freeway on Detroit's west side.

The incident happened after a traffic crash on the southbound Lodge near Seven Mile sometime around 6 p.m.

An occupant of one of the cars fired a shotgun at an occupant of the second vehicle which was involved in accident. One person was injured and rushed to Sinai Grace but it was the result of a physical attack involving the armed man, police say.

The suspect is in custody according to Michigan State Police. Dramatic video below was shared by FOX 2 viewer Darrisa Prenee below. 




Police have confiscated a number of weapons including six long guns after what appears to be just a two-car accident. 

The southbound side of the Lodge freeway has been closed by police for their investigation.
