Shooting puts Cass Tech on lockdown

A lockdown in place at Cass Technical High School has been lifted following a shooting near the building.

Detroit Police tell Fox 2 a man was shot at 2nd Avenue and Petersboro Street, just blocks away from Cass Tech. Police say the shooter ran off, so schools in the area were put on lockdown according to protocol.

The victim was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital in critical condition.

The lockdown was lifted in the afternoon, just before 2:00 p.m.

Police have not said if the shooter is in custody at this time.
