Surveillance cameras are rolling as five men get into a shootout at a Detroit apartment complex.

Terrifying moments shortly before noon this past Saturday - a shootout at the State Fair Apartments in Detroit.

Police say two men pulled up in a light-colored tan Jeep. One suspect had a long gun, possibly an AK-47. The two criminals jumped out of the Jeep and started firing in the building's back entrance.

"It was frightening to me because I didn't know what was going on," said witness Cheryl Harris.

From looking at the video, it appears the two suspects fired at two more men in the doorway, leaving bullet holes inside. This ordeal has left several people at the complex on edge and afraid.

"Right here, double doors. I mean, my mother lives here and I want to make sure that she is safe," said Michael Diggs.

Residents who live here say a lot of elderly people sit where the shooting happened which has now been boarded up. The building has countless patios, and luckily nobody was hit.

FOX 2 found more bullet holes on the patio right about where the shooting happened. One resident says a bullet went into her entertainment system.

"This could have been a terrible scene, but I just thank god no one was hurt," Harris said.

Police have a vague description of the suspects, the driver had his face covered with a mask and police don't know the motive at this time.

Anyone with information should call the 12th Precinct at 313-596-1240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
