Family of Taylor woman killed by Burlington coworker: 'You aimed to kill'

TAYLOR, Mich. (WJBK) - The sister of the woman killed by her coworker at a Burlington store in Taylor has one thing to say to the shooter: "You shot my sister in the heart like a coward."

The family of the 49-year-old Lorraine Faison is coming to terms with the fact she is gone.

"This is not no threat - you aimed to kill," the victim's daughter said.

Sandra Waller, 49, is facing first-degree murder and felony firearm, accused of fatally shooting Faison once in the chest during an argument around 7 a.m. Monday at the store in the 22300 block of Eureka Road.

Fox 2 caught up with the fiancé of the woman believed to have fired the shots who said the manager sent both women home.

"I'm quite sure if they were sent home for the same problem, they should know it wasn't right for them be working together," the fiancé said.

However, Faison's daughter says that reports of Burlington sending her mom and the alleged shooter home because of a disagreement are not completely accurate.

"The manager had to act like she sent both of them home when really she sent this woman home and told my mom to just go take a break and come back to work because the lady was the aggressor," she said.

The fiancé says the alleged shooter is the victim but the Faison's family believes the coworker planned this act of violence.

"This was all planned out - premeditated," the daughter said.

"How could he say she was the victim? My sister is the deceased," the victim's sister said.

Faison's family says they have so many questions and are still waiting to hear from Burlington.

"Burlington did not give me a phone call and I know I'm an emergency contact because I'm her only baby. They did not call me, they still have not called me," the daughter said.

The family says they are broken and every hour is a struggle, but they hope by sharing their story that people can learn to control their emotions before turning to a weapon as a solution

"It wasn't going to kill the girl to walk away. Just walk away," the sister said.
