Source: Jealous ex firebombs Detroit home, 2 killed

Two people were killed and a third person is in serious condition after a house fire on Detroit's east side.

The fire happened around 2 a.m. Monday morning at a home on Manning Street near Hoyt Avenue, which is near the intersection of Schoenherr Street and E State Fair Avenue. We're told the two people that were killed were in their 20s, and that the victims are a male and a female. Their names are not known.

A source tells FOX 2 authorities believe house was "fire bombed" as a retaliation for a fight that had happened earlier at the home.

We're told a woman showed up at the home upset that her child's father had a new girlfriend. The two women got into a fight and a third woman also got involved, so the woman left threatening to come back. Hours later, the house was in flames.

The child's father and his girlfriend were killed in the fire. The female victim's brother was also injured and is in the hospital in serious condition.

Homicide detectives confirm they know who they are looking for, but have not released the woman's name or picture.
