Child who yelled 'stranger danger' is safe at home; man was her dad
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - The truth has come out about a story shared thousands of times on social media Halloween evening.
A little girl who was overheard yelling "stranger danger" while leaving a Southfield store with a man was not in any danger. Turns out the man was actually the little girl's father.
The incident was reported to police as the pair was seen walking out of a Burlington store in Southfield, and the girl was visibly upset and yelling for help.
People were concerned she was being abducted and a surveillance photo of the two of them quickly circulated on social media.
However, police confirm the girl was never in any danger and is safe at home.
