A wild scene ended when a speeding car crashed into a house in northwest Detroit.

Police say a white Dodge was speeding down Tyler Street at Petoskey when the driver lost control and crashed into a Saturn.

Four people inside that Saturn were hurt including two children ages 11 and 2 years old. That Dodge then careened into the house.

No one inside was hurt, but we spoke to a resident who says the man tried running from the scene.

"He tried to run around the corner and get away from the scene before the police showed, so the people who stay in this area went and got the guy,” said Clyde Allen. "They sat him down until the police came."

The driver of the Saturn suffered the most serious injuries; she's in temporary serious condition.

The other passengers are in stable condition. No word on injuries to the driver of the speeding dodge, but police believes he may have been drinking.
