The suspect, Aaron Lockridge of Detroit.

A Mount Clemens man watched Aaron Lockridge steal his customized F-350 pick-up truck from a parking lot by  Michigan Motorcycle salvage, where Ladner works.

The whole crime was caught on security camera but truck owner Brian Ladner couldn’t catch him despite trying to give chase with a friend.

Inside his truck were three dirt bikes in back, all stolen in November. He called the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and filed a report.

Finally a month later, his friend stumbled across the truck online.

"One of my buddies found it on Craigslist," Ladner said. "After seeing that we gave the information to the cops."

Monday the Macomb Auto Theft Squad, along with Wayne County's Auto Theft Team struck a fake deal with Lockridge, 37, of Detroit, to buy the truck for $8,000.

"He came out with the stolen truck, different VIN and title for it," Ladner said. "They took him down."

After arresting Lockridge, police headed to his home on Glendale In Detroit and not only did they find the stolen F-350 but also a grow operation and another stolen SUV.

That SUV -- seen in a FOX 2 story earlier this week which belonged to Marine Matthew Canfield who is serving out of state, stolen when his sister drove it to work.

Ladner says he can't believe how low Lockridge would go.

Also recovered, a malnourished pit bull in Lockridge's backyard and two of Ladner's motorcycles.

Lockridge is charged with using a computer to commit a crime and receiving and concealing stolen property but is now out on bond.
