Stranger Danger: Man tries to lure child into car in Woodhaven

Woodhaven police are investigating a case of stranger danger Thursday.

A student at Yake Elementary said that an older white male with gray hair in an older model gray car approached him, trying to lure him into the vehicle.

The incident happened near the corner of Monterey and Carter, next to Yake, as the man asked the student to get in the car because "he had something for him" and wanted him to get inside of his car. The boy described the man as kind of old.

The student dropped his scooter and ran to the vehicle of a Yake parent in the parking lot, according to the school.

"I was on my way to the park with my scooter and this dude stopped me," the boy said. "He told me to come here and I dropped my scooter and I ran to my friend's car. My friend's mom took me to the school where I talked to the principal and then they called 911."
