Study: How you take your coffee could lead to 'psychopathic tendencies'

How do you like your coffee?

New research out of Austria tonight shows that those who take their coffee "black" without cream or sugar are more likely to become a psychopath.

About 500 men and women were shown a list of foods with equal numbers of sweet, salty, sour and bitter items. Apparently, it all has to do with bitterness.

Those who like bitter foods like black coffee were more likely to exhibit traits making them anti-social sadistic and yes, even psychopathic.

The study was conducted by Professor Christina Sagioglou from Innsbruck University, had participants rank the foods on a six-point scale from dislike strongly to like strongly.

Participants then completed four separate personality questionnaires measuring aggression levels.

The study was published in the journal Appetite.  Researchers found that people who prefer bitter tastes like black coffee were more likely to show signs of Machiavellism, sadism and narcissism.
