Suspect wanted in string of TCF Bank robberies

Take a good look at this man have you seen him? Or do you know him?

He is a suspect in a string of TCF Bank robberies in Troy - three times since April. Police are offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to his capture.

The first robbery happened at the TCF on Coolidge on April 16 at 11 a.m.

On video you can see the robber wearing a black hoodie, walk inside the bank and hand the teller a bag while demanding money. He then quickly walked away.

Then Sept. 10, police say he came back for more. This time chose the TCF Bank on East Big Beaver and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt but covered the chest logo and the one on his hat, with black tape.

On Oct. 27, police say he wore the same clothing and robbed the TCF on Coolidge a second time.

Police say all robberies happened around 11 a.m. and each time the robber implied he had a weapon.

Investigators want to catch him before he strikes again.

"He has an unusual gait," said Sgt. Meghan Lehman, Troy police. "You can see a little closer that he's wearing a wedding ring and his mannerisms that we hope will ID the suspect."

As the investigation continues, police now believe this suspect could be responsible for robbing other TCF banks in nearby cities.

"There are a total of seven that we believe could be the same suspect hitting TCF Banks," said Lehman.

Police say the suspect is in his 30s to 40s with a medium build and brown hair. He stands about 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall.  And he may not be from metro Detroit

"There's a possibility that he may be from Flint, Toledo, or someone else completely," Lehman said. "We are looking for any information. We will take anonymous tips and I want to mention that there is a $10,000 reward."
