Suspected porta-potty peeper from apple orchard arrested

WEB UPDATE (Oct. 4): The suspect has been identified as James Mazor, who has been officially charged.

A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection to a camera found in a public bathroom.

The suspect is a Royal Oak man who was arrested in the Ypsilanti area without incident Friday.

According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, police found a hidden camera at Wiard's Orchards in Ypsilanti Township. An employee at the orchard discovered the camera had recorded the suspect's face just prior to installing it. A time stamp on the photo indicates it was taken October 10, 2015.

An employee with the orchard said that the suspect placed the camera there just for the day, one year ago, during a special event. The orchard investigated before turning the case over to police.

Numerous tips came in leading to the arrest. The man is currently in the Washtenaw County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned Saturday morning at which time his  name will be released.
