All clear given after suspicious packages near federal buildings in Detroit

The all clear has been given after authorities were investigating two suspicious packages near downtown Detroit Wednesday morning.

The packages were near the US Drug Enforcement Admin and the McNamara Federal buildings, which are near Howard and 1st streets.

The bomb squad was been called in to help with the investigation. The area was closed off, and the all-clear was given just before 10:30 a.m.

We're told one of the suspicious items was a plastic container with a speaker inside, and the other was a canvas bag.
