The Michigan State Police said an 18-year-old who was driving 99 MPH sped up even faster because he thought someone was following him. He was right.

The teenager was spotted Thursday morning around 4:45 on I-94 near Metro Parkway in Clinton Township. According to police, he was in the left lane and clocked at 99 MPH.

The trooper pulled behind the 2008 Ford Fusion and that's when their radar indicated he hit 106.

Michigan State Police pulled over the Harper Woods teen. When they talked to him, he said he thought "someone was following him".

MSP says he was correct - someone was following: the Michigan State Police.
