Text message threat investigated at Detroit high school

Authorities are continuing to investigate a threat to a Detroit high school, thought the all-clear has been given at the building Monday morning.

Detroit police have a bomb squad and canine unit at University Prep Science and Math High School Monday morning as a precaution. Police say a threat to blow up the school was texted out on Sunday.

Detroit police say they received a call from a woman Sunday about a suspicious text message her daughter received. Police say the daughter received a text containing a threat to blow up the school.

Police say they checked the building Sunday and found it to be secure. Authorities were at the building again on Monday, and have given the all-clear at the scene. Classes are in session.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the origin of the text message.

The school is located at 2664 Franklin Street in Detroit, which is between Chene Street and Jos Campau.
