Thieves steal $30K in meds from Binson's in Center Line

The search is on for suspects who broke into a Binson's and stole more than $30,000 in drugs.

"They came in with hoods, gloves, masks. They knew there was a system, that there were video cameras," said Paul Myszenski, Center Line director of public safety.

And those cameras were rolling as thieves broke into Binson's Home Health Care Supplies in Center Line.

"It puts a lot of legal narcotics out on the street to be sold illegally," said Myszenski. "And it just adds more to our problem of opiates."

It happened near 11 Mile and Van Dyke in the 26800 block of Lawrence just after 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Investigators say the thieves pried open the door to the building and stole cough medicine and other schedule two drugs once inside their heist took less than three minutes.

"These were a very organized group of individuals that had spent some time reviewing where they kept everything," Myszenski said. "And (they) had a game plan before they walked into the building."

If you have any information about the break in please call the Center Line public safety department at (586) 757-6800.
