Unarmed robbery suspect who escapes DPD has been caught

UPDATE: The suspect has been caught and is in custody.

Detroit police are searching for an escaped unarmed robbery suspect on the city's west side.

He is described as a 24-year-old black male, about 5 feet, 1 inch with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing brown shirt and brown short, according to police.

A perimeter has been set up by police near the Sixth Precinct near Warwick and Plymouth, searching for the suspect. He was picked up along with some other suspects in other crimes in the precinct's garage when he escaped, wearing flex cuffs, which look like zip ties.

The suspect's name has not been released yet by the police.
