VIDEO: Macomb County deputies rescue horse from frozen pond

This video is miraculous. A group of very brave, and cold, Macomb County deputies worked as a team on Wednesday to rescue a horse from a frozen pond.

Around 9:30 a.m., deputies were called to a home in Ray Township to a horse that had fallen through an ice-covered pond. Deputies tried to guide the horse out with ropes but the animal couldn't get its legs above the ice.

Deputies tried to attach a rope to the horse's bridle but one of them lost his balance and fell into the frigid water. He was quickly pulled out of the water and kept working to save the horse.

The Ray Township Fire Department also responded, a skid loader was brought in and they kept working. They broke the ice up were finally able to free the horse.

The 6 minute long video is amazing as the horse finally breaks free.

According to deputies, the horse was checked out by  a veterinarian and is expected to be okay. The deputy who fell in, while extremely cold, was uninjured.
