Ants crawl through donut display case at Canton Tim Hortons

A Facebook Live video showing ants at a local Tim Hortons location is causing a big concern for many customers.

In the video, you can see ants crawling around at the bottom of a bakery case around some crumbs.

"I was flabbergasted," said Ron Todd.

He was at the Tim Hortons at Hagerty and Ford in Canton when he saw the ants and decided to go live on Facebook on Tuesday.

"I wanted to make sure that other people saw what I saw so they may not want to eat there," he said.

FOX 2 contacted Tim Hortons and they issued this statement:

"Food safety is a top priority for us and all of our Restaurant Owners. We take this matter seriously and are working with the Franchisee, who independently owns and operates the restaurant, to resolve this situation immediately."

Todd says he will no longer be stopping by his regular tea and donuts.

"I'm going to go to a different place locally of course until I've found out that they've really taken action as far as making sure that the bugs are gone, and not just wiping down the countertops," he said.

Todd says he did point out the ants to the employees but according to him, they didn't seem too concerned.
