Video shows group of women assaulting Westland store owner

A group of women were caught on cell phone video assaulting a store owner after he chased them through the parking lot and accused them of stealing a basket of hair and beauty supplies.

It started innocently enough as three young women walked into Amy's Wig and Beauty in Westland. They shopped for hair and then ran out with $600 in unpaid merchandise.

David Nan said his father tried to catch up to the thieves. That's when all hell broke loose.

"When my dad tried to catch them when he went outside, they hit him," Nan said.

The three women weren't alone. A group of women got out of a U-Haul truck in the parking lot and began attacking him as well.

Right about then is when Billy Morrow noticed what was happening.

"I was just over in the parking lot and that's when I got involved.  One of the girls hit my car and that's when I got involved," Morrow said.

Morrow opened his camera app and started recording. He got most of the melee on camera and even got video of the license plate number of the getaway U-Haul truck.

This incident happened Tuesday night at about 6:30. The three are still on the run. But, Westland police told FOX 2 that they may be getting close to an arrest.

"It's not worth it. It's time to get a job and work for your money and work for your female products," Morrow said.
