The Sterling Heights Police and Fire Department deserve a pat on the back after saving a man's life on the side of a road.

Sterling Heights Police were called to Clinton River Road Tuesday afternoon by a woman who said her 70-year-old husband was unresponsive.

When they arrived, Sterling Heights Police Officer Randy Shippy immediately pulled him from the car and started giving him CPR. He continued until the Sterling Heights Fire Department and paramedics arrived.

Together, they revived the man through multiple defibrillation and medications. He was taken to the hospital and was conscious at the time.
