Video: Truck with trailer & plow leads chase on rims, rams car

- A suspect was able to outrun a Macomb County Sheriff, despite pulling a trailer loaded down with a 4-wheeler and having a snow plow mounted on the front!

It was just before 5:00 on Tuesday morning when a sheriff on routine patrol noticed something strange at a closed business, so he went to check it out.

"As soon as he was pulling up, he saw an individual jump out of the passenger seat (of the truck) and get into a vehicle. At which time both vehicles took off," Sheriff Anthony Wickerhsam said. "At that time of morning, a closed business, suspicious activity going on."

That's not all. According to Wickerhsam, the license plate didn't match the vehicle. With the sheriff behind, and the trailer in tow, the truck got on I-94, where he's eventually greeted by other officers with stop sticks.

"As the pursuit moves on to I-94, this individual isn't going to stop for us, we contacted a neighboring agency, Roseville PD. They're coming down I-94 so Rosevill deploys stop sticks that puncture the tires and the vehicle keeps on going," he said.

But that doesn't stop him either. The truck, with the Kawasaki 4-wheeler on the attached trailer and the snow plow up front, keeps going! He hits 75 miles an hour and is even talking on his phone and even takes out an innocent driver.

"As you can see, he rams an innocent driver and we're thankful that both people in that vehicle were not injured," Wickersham said.

So how did he lose the sheriff? As soon as he crossed into Detroit, they gave up the chase. The sheriff said public safety outweighs apprehension of a suspect. The truck was reported stolen the next day. But the officers did get to see the guy's face.

"Our deputies were up and close and they got a good look at the suspect," Wickersham said.

He got away this time, but the cops are looking for a white male in his late teens, early 20s, wearing a black hoody. If you have any information call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
