Water main break floods Five Mile

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WJBK) - On top of this week's winter storm, the residents of Summer Garden Condominiums on Five Mile Road in Livonia had to deal with a water main break.

Early Thursday morning, crews had to shovel the heavy snow all while the water poured into the street.

Marianne Gordon described the water flooding as a fountain, and said she spent the entire morning with no water. FOX 2 arrived as crews got the water back on.

"Luckily I had bottled water to brush my teeth and to make some hot water to have some tea," Gordon said.

Gordon said she woke up at 6 a.m. when she got a text message from a neighbor telling her about the water problem.

"She had to go on the sidewalk and go out the next door neighbor's driveway because she couldn't get out the driveway at all," Gordon said of her neighbor.
