Wayne State welcomes a record 1,000 freshmen on move-in day

(WJBK) - This is an exciting time of year filled with mixed emotions for families everywhere.

Saturday and Sunday is move-in weekend at Wayne State University.

About 18,000 new residents are moving in to Detroit's midtown.

The school is welcoming 1,000 freshmen -- a record for the school.

Upper classmen move in tomorrow.

By Tuesday night, the school will have 3,100 students living on campus.
