Winning lottery ticket sold at Sterling Heights CVS

It was an exciting weekend for regular shoppers at a CVS in Sterling Heights, knowing that a winning ticket was sold at the store.

The Macomb County woman is choosing to stay anonymous, but we know she is now a couple million dollars richer. She says in a statement that she's been buying lottery tickets at the CVS for years and that she can't believe she finally got a jackpot winner.

She bought the ticket from the store at Schoenherr and Canal roads.

"I think that's awesome. I'm a regular customer here also. I just kind of wish it would have been me, but hey. Good for her," says Theresa Hill.

The woman found out Thursday at the store that all six of her Lotto 47 numbers matched. She chose to take the lump sum, one-time payment of $2.9 million.

We're told the lucky lotto winner has a husband and three college-age kids, so she plans to pay for their education, pay off some bills and then planning a big family vacation.
