Wixom gas station hosting 2-day fundraiser for fallen Wayne State Police Sgt. Collin Rose

- Beginning Thursday, Wixom business owner Eddie Osman is sponsoring a 2-day fundraising event at his Marathon gas station for fallen Wayne State Police Sgt. Collin Rose.

The event runs 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. both Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 at his station, which is located just off I-96, at 29330 Wixom Road in Wixom.

Fifteen cents of every gallon of gas sold, as well as 100 percent of all proceeds from hot dogs, coffee and fountain pop sales - will be given to the family of Sgt. Rose.

Rose was shot in the head on November 22 as he tried to arrest DeAngelo Davis, who faces murder and gun charges. Police are also looking for another man they believe may have witnessed the crime.

His funeral was held Thursday morning in St. Clair Shores. You can read more about that here

Rose's family has also asked for donations to be made in Rose's name to the Detroit Dog Rescue, where his fiance is a staff member.
