BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - A Waterford woman was arrested last month for stealing nearly $1,000 worth of merchandise from a beauty supply store in Bloomfield Township.
Police say Jennifer Ortiz, 31, entered the Ulta and went around the store putting numberous items in her personal bag. The approximate value of all the items was $914.00.
Police say she left the store and made no attempt to pay for the items. Store employees notified the authorities, and an officer caught up with the woman in the parking lot.
She ignored his commands to stop walking away, and when he caught up to her, attempted to pull her arms away. Ortiz was arrested with the stolen merchandise.
The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office issued a misdemeanor complaint and warrant for Retail Fraud II and Resisting Arrest.
Ortiz was arraigned on Thursday, August 10 and given a $5,000.00 personal bond.
She's due in court again in September.
