Woman assaulted by man wearing ski mask in Troy

- Police are asking for help identifying a suspect after a woman was assaulted by a man in a ski mask while taking out her trash.

The incident took place around 10 p.m. on September 18 in the 2000 block of Crooks Road.

As the woman left her apartment, she noticed the suspect, who was not previously known to her, carrying an unidentifiable object in his hand.

The suspect followed the woman as she walked toward the dumpster, then took off running after her.

Just before chasing after her, the man put on a black ski-mask.

When he caught up with the victim, the man grabbed her arm and said, "Shhh. Don't say anything."

The victim screamed and the man let go, then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a male about the age of 30, 5'10", heavy set, with short, straight light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black or gray sweatshirt and khaki shorts.
