Woman badly burned in west side apartment fire

A woman was badly burned in an apartment fire Thursday night on Detroit's west side, according to Detroit Fire officials.

The second alarm fire start around 10:30 p.m. Thanksgiving at a 20-unit occupied apartment complex on Redford Street, near the intersection of West McNichols Road and Lahser Road.

A 66-year-old woman was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital with second and third-degree burns.

The fire was under control shortly after 11 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
