Woman critically injured in crash involving DDOT bus

Authorities are investigating an accident on Detroit's east side involving a DDOT bus. At least one person was injured.

Detroit police say the incident was a series of two accidents. It started when two vehicles got into a crash on Morang Avenue around 5 a.m. No one was hurt, and the drivers got out of their cars to talk and trade information.

Before they could call 911, though, police say a DDOT bus driver on Morang hit one of the woman's vehicles as she was standing outside. Her SUV spun around from the impact of the bus and came back around and hit her, injuring her.

She was rushed to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

A few people were on the bus at the time but we're told none of them were hurt.

Police have not yet given the name of the female victim, but say she is in her 30s.

This portion of Morang Avenue, near Duprey Street, is closed during the investigation.
