Woman flags down car hours after small plane crashes near Adrian

The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office says a woman walked to flag down a car hours after the small plane she was flying in crashed into a tree.

Officials say the small plane crashed southwest of Adrian around 10 a.m. Friday but it wasn't discovered until around 2:30 in the afternoon.

According to deputies, the plane crashed into a treeline near a bean field and got wedged in the tree. Around 2 p.m., deputies said a woman in the plane walked almost a mile away and flagged down a passing car.

The woman and another man in the plane were both taken to a Toledo hospital and are in serious condition.

The Federal Aviation Administration is headed to the scene to investigate.
