LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) - A 25-year-old woman was sentenced Friday to probation for robbing a bank and spending the money on crab legs and Air Jordans.
Chloe Adams was sentenced to two years of probation and 120 days in Wayne County Jail (with a jail credit of 39 days). She must also pay $5,164 in restitution, as well as another several thousand in court and attorney fees.
Adams pleaded guilty to robbing a Citizens Bank at 28999 Five Mile, east of Middlebelt, in Livonia. Police around 11:30 a.m. May 27, she passed a note to a teller demanding money or "things would get bloody."
Police arrested her shortly after at her Detroit home, charged her with one count of bank robbery, and gave her a $1 million cash or surety bond.
Before she learned her fate Friday, Adams took a moment to apologize to the court.
"What I did was out of character and now me and my family have to suffer the consequences," she said. "I know I scared some people and I truly apologize for that."
