Woman killed in hit-and-run by several cars on McNichols

DETROIT (WJBK) - A woman was killed in a hit and run on the west side of Detroit Thursday night.

The identified woman was struck and killed on McNichols between Winston and Salem as she was crossing the street at about 7:50 p.m.

It is believed that a dark red or burgundy SUV struck her and other vehicles driving behind also hit the woman in the street. Multiple cars hit her and a few stopped at the scene.

Police are checking for surveillance video from neighboring businesses.

The woman's name has not yet been given, but we're told she's in her 60s. 

Witnesses are asked to call Detroit police with information or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
