ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) - A motorcyclist was killed when she was hit by a car changing lanes, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office says.
The 63-year-old woman, of Warren, was riding her 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the center lane on M-59 when the accident happened.
Authorities say a 21-year-old Sterling Heights woman changed lanes and hit the motorcycle with a 2012 Hyundai Accent. This happened in Rochester Hills on eastbound M-59, near John R Road Wednesday around 9:30 p.m.
Police say the woman was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. She was wearing a helmet. Police say the Hyundai driver wasn't injured, although her airbags deployed.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
Authorities didn't give the name of the victim.
