Woman shot in Detroit street dies, no suspect yet

- Police are looking for a suspect after a young woman was found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds and died at the hospital.

Officials say a 24-year-old woman was found lying in the street in the 4000 block of West Euclid near the corner of Grand River on Detroit's west side. She was shot multiple times and although she was taken to the hospital after 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, she died from her injuries.

Investigators believe this tragedy most likely stemmed from an argument at a different location, but in the same neighborhood.

"At this time, it looks like there was some sort of argument beforehand but we're not really sure on the specifics. So we're trying to track down who she was with prior to the shooting to see if there was any relationship between the argument beforehand and this actual shooting," said Detroit Police Sgt. Matthew Gnatek.

The victim's family is providing some details to Detroit Police, including that the woman lived in that neighborhood.
We know the woman killed also lived in this area.

"We have a few sources that are providing information. They're basically telling us who we need to talk to," Gnatek said.

However, Detroit police still need people to speak up if they anything about what up led up to the shooting and if they know who is responsible.

"We need people to get involved and that's the hardest part," Gnatek said.
