DETROIT (WJBK) - Police are investigating the death of a woman inside a house on Detroit's northwest side Monday morning.
Police say the 41-year-old woman was shot once and had multiple stab wounds to the body. Medics pronounced her dead just after 5 a.m. inside a home in the 19700 block of Sorrento Street, which is near Outer Drive and Seven Mile Road.
Police say they have a suspect in mind, a 49-year-old man.
Police say witnesses told them that man had been stalking the woman, and that she was afraid of him. Police also say witnesses told them they heard screaming coming from the house a couple days ago.
Police haven't yet said if the victim and the suspect previously knew each other before the alleged stalking.
It's unclear right now if the suspect is in custody.
