A woman trapped inside a burning car was rescued by a police officer and a civilian Thursday morning.

The woman had pulled her car into an ATM drive thru at Credit Union One on Fort Street in Lincoln Park when her vehicle went up in flames. She couldn't get out due to her car being parked so close to the building.

Someone called 911, and an officer responded to the scene. A police officer and a civilian were able to smash one of her car windows and pull her out.

The severity of the woman's injuries are not known at this time. Police are also investigating what caused the car fire.
