WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are investigating after a body was found in a burning car in West Bloomfield early Friday morning.
A neighbor put in a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. that a car was on fire behind a vacant school at W Long Lake Road near Orchard Lake Road.
Firefighters got to the car and put out the fire, and discovered a body inside. Investigators believe the fire was set on purpose, and say the victim is a female.
It's early in the investigation, but at this time authorities don't believe the body is of a missing Farmington woman, 28-year-old Danielle Stislicki, who was last seen exactly one week ago today.
The burning car was near the playground behind the old Pine Lake Elementary School.
"We were here pretty quick, probably, after the fire was started, but cars can burn pretty quick, so even by the time we got here the car was fully engulfed and it's very, very well-burnt," says West Bloomfield Township Police Chief Michael Patton. Police are working to identify the make and model of the vehicle.
West Bloomfield Police are currently interviewing two persons of interest.
