Westin Book Cadillac hotel evacuated overnight

Guests staying at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit are back in their rooms this morning.

The building was evacuated overnight, following several manhole explosions in the area.

People at the Rosa Parks Transit Center on Michigan Avenue were evacuated as well.

This all happened sometime after midnight.

The blasts appear to be the result of an issue with an underground DTE transformer.

Riders and employees from the Transit Center were allowed back inside a short time later.

There are also reports of water main breaks in the Michigan Avenue Corridor.
