Man ambushed, shot to death in grocery store parking lot

A man sitting in a parked car was shot to death in a Detroit grocery store parking lot after being ambushed.

The parking lot at the Supreme Food Center at the corner of Schoolcraft and Mansfield is now a crime scene after a 27-year-old man was fatally shot, according to police.

At 1 p.m. the car pulled into a spot. The driver got out and, according to police, went into the store, leaving his friend alone in the car's passenger seat.

While the driver was in the store, someone came up to the car and opened fire at point blank range - killing the man.

A supermarket employee tells FOX 2's Dave Spencer he heard four to five shots. A bullet hole can be seen in the passenger side car door and shell casings marked by police were found  next to the vehicle.

As for who pulled the trigger, police have made no arrests at this time.

Ever since getting the 911-call police have been interviewing possible witnesses and family members but have no suspects at this time.
