Detroit police are at the scene of a fatal shooting at a west side BP gas station  at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was shot inside at about 3 p.m. at the station, located at 7305 Grand River at Grand Boulevard. The 24-year-old man later died en route to a hospital.

The suspect, whose name is said to be "Sonny"  is still at large. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds - medium build, dark complected - possibly braids in his hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt with a white T-shirt underneath and dark pants. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

"He definitely needs to be gotten off the street as quick as possible," said Capt.. Nick Kyriacou. "If anybody in the immediate vicinity here knows who that is they're asked to help us out by calling."

James McGee was standing inside the door of the gas station when he says says the two men had words.

"I was in my own little world until I heard, "what, what" and then I heard, pop, pop, pop." McGee said.  "He said something to him. They started to get into a fight and he pulled the gun out and shot him."

Alyssa Wiggins says the men are known as Gucci and Sunny. Police say Sonny took off running after shooting the other man in the torso.

"I was told that they had been arguing for a year now, they had problems with each other, animosity probably," said Wiggins.
