Man found dead in apparent hit-and-run in Detroit by sanitation worker

Detroit police say a man has been found dead on the city's east side in an apparent hit-and-run.

Andre Walk, a sanitation worker discovered the man's body who is his late 20's or early 30's Tuesday morning on the side of Chene Street near Medbury Street.

On his regular sanitation route on Chene and Medbury on the city's east side Tuesday morning, Walk says he thought he saw a bundle of clothes on the side of the road. "I stepped back to get a better look, and saw that it was a body."

According to the police report, the man was found lying in the snow right near the curb with blood all over his face and back.

Police believe he was shot in the face.

Walk says the officers who got on-scene did not hesitate to get out of their cars and rush over to the man.

Walk says what he saw this morning will stay with him forever, "it's one thing to talk about it, another to actually experience it."

Detroit police have not yet released the victims name as they are still working to notify his family. If you have any information on this, please call Detroit police.
