Michigan filmmaker Michael Moore: "disarm the police"

Michigan native and film-maker Michael Moore is no stranger to controversy. In the wake of another death of an African American in police custody, he's making waves again.

The Flint native tweeted several 'demands' Thursday morning. The first was for African-Americans behind bars for nonviolent crimes to be released. The second one is the one that's getting the most attention.

His tweets game in the wake of the protests of the death of Baltimore's Freddie Gray. Gray died from a spinal injury after he was arrested by Baltimore police. It is unknown when Gray suffered the injury while he was in police custody.

Moore is known for voicing his political opinions and doing so loudly. In January, he tweeted against the movie "American Sniper" and called snipers "cowards".
