Never-dying love: man sends wife Valentine flowers even in death

Last February, Jim Golay was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In the moments that immediately followed, he put together a plan to make sure his wife remembered him every Valentine's day to come.

The 53-year-old man lived five more months before passing in July. So when his wife, Shelly, got a bouquet of flowers two days before Valentine's Day, she believed her children sent them to her. She called the flower shop who told her it was Jim. He was reaching out to her, even after his life.

As Shelly explained to KCWY, Jim put together a special arrangement.

"Until the day I die, I'll get Valentine's flowers on Valentine's Day and that's just a testament of his love all over again," she said.

She likened his beautiful gesture to a fairy tail. They may not have gotten the happy ending, but it's a beautiful one.

Information from the Associated Press and KCWY was used in this report.
