Pennsylvania cop killed, girlfriend blames the dog, gets arrested

(WTXF) - The girlfriend of a Delaware County (PA) police officer has been charged in connection with his death.

Darby Borough Officer Mark Hudson was shot and killed in his Glenolden home on Saturday night. Officer Mark Hudson's live-in girlfriend was the only other person in his Glenolden house when he was shot in the chest Saturday night while off duty and killed, according to police.

Prosecutors  charged Tyaina Finch with 1st and 3rd degree murder for shooting and killing of Hudson. This comes after she was charged with making terroristic threats.

Finch had been dating officer Hudson for more than a year. However, at one point the officer got a "protection from abuse" order against her. Police say Finch originally told them that Hudson's dog got a hold of his gun. She says when she tried to get the gun away from the dog it fired and hit Hudson.

Detectives say she changed her story on Monday. According to detectives, she told them she got into an argument with Hudson and she shot him. Police say she doesn't recall pulling the trigger.
