The girl was standing at the bus stop on Lenore between Pilgrim and Puritan, when she says the man pulled up and told her to get into his car.
When she refused, she says the man tried to chase her. The third-grader says she ran down the street and waited until he drove away.
The suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old with a tattoo of an eagle or bird on his left forearm. He was driving a newer black four-door car, possibly a Buick.
Parents in the neighborhood are concerned.
"It's not the same world that it used to be," said one parent who declined to be identified. "We can't let our kids go anywhere out of our sight anymore and it's a shame.
"But we always walk the little ones to the bus stop and wait for them to come home."
