Officials with the Moultrie Colquitt County Humane Society say they had to see to believe it. They say Rami is a unique mixed-breed dog and has gotten a lot of attention because of it.
"Yes, you're reading that right, and, no, you haven't gone crazy," is what is stated in one of their Facebook posts on the new pooch celebrity.
They say he didn't have a microchip or collar, so they waited the standard 5 days and then put him up to be adopted.
"I'm full of energy. I don't like walking on a leash. I'm a sweetie pie, and love to run. I don't listen very well, so you'll need to take some time to train me. Because I tend to be a bit hyper, I might not be the best addition to a household with little kids. But I'm sure that all I need is a little lovin'," is how Rami is described on their Facebook page.
They say they have been inundated with calls and emails asking how to adopt Rami to the point that they have set up a special screening process.
Officials say they know he'll eventually get a good home, but want to remind all those inquiring about Rami that their shelter houses anywhere from 80 to 110 dogs and cats at any given time who also need good homes.
