Rash of break-ins has businesses on high alert in Royal Oak

Royal Oak police are investigating burglaries and break-ins at a half-dozen businesses.

Police are seeking tips in the six incidents, which were reported early on May 21.

In all but one incident someone pried open doors to the businesses to get inside the buildings. 

An undisclosed amount of money and a TV were stolen from Siam Spicy restaurant, 29838 Woodward, after someone pried open a rear door at the business.

A rear door was also pried open at Affordable Flowers, 25818 Woodward, and an intruder stole money and miscellaneous clothing.

Police said an attempted burglary happened at Ye Old Saloon, 1023 S. Main Street. Someone tried to pry open the entry doors to the saloon but was unsuccessful.

A laptop, printer and a cash register containing money were stolen from Limon Spa, 28987 Woodward, after the rear door of the business was pried open.

At Alpha Automotive, 2533 Crooks, a garage door panel was pried open, though the owner told police nothing appeared to be stolen.

About 5 a.m. on May 21 an alarm sounded at the Sunoco gas station at 1808 Crooks. Officers arrived and saw someone had broken out a garage door window.

The owner showed up soon after and told police someone had entered the station but nothing was stolen.
