Remains found in Monroe County identified as Chelsea Bruck

The Monroe County Sheriff's department and Sheriff Dale Malone held a press conference Saturday regarding the investigation into the missing 22-year-old Chelsea Bruck.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Monroe confirmed the remains that were discovered Friday afternoon in Monroe County are that of Chelsea Bruck. She was positively identified by family members Saturday at the Wayne County Morgue.

The remains were uncovered Friday afternoon as construction crews worked to free a stuck dump struck.

Bruck went missing last October after she disappeared while leaving a Halloween party in Newport. Bruck was dressed in a homemade Poison Ivy costume. Malone says that some of Bruck's clothing was found April 5, other evidence has been collected as well but he failed to give any insight as to what that evidence exactly was Saturday.

Sheriff Malone says the cause of death is pending the entirety of the autopsy.

Fox 2's Dave Spencer is in Monroe County tonight and will have a live report at 10 p.m.
