Now they are struggling to replace everything they lost in the blaze and are looking for help.
It's a mess, right now we don't know what we are going to do," said Marcus Gray. "How we're going to do anything, we don't have anywhere to live.
"We totally lost everything, we did not have insurance."
The man's wife and the mother of his two boys is in a hospital fighting for her life.
"She is on breathing machine," Gray said.

They're staying with relatives for now ,but say they are in need of help to get back on their feet.
"It turned our lives upside down," Gray said.
They established a GoFundMe account and the Romulus Fire Department is accepting gift cards and monetary donations on their behalf.
"The Romulus Fire Department is taking any donations, monetary or anything," Gray said. "Food, clothes, bikes for my kids. Money, anything."
